It is said that "Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water,
about eight minutes without air, but only one second without hope." As a nation we elected a president with an expectation
of "Hope and Change". Now, the citizens of this great country even more desperately yearn for hope.
Ancient
Israel needed hope. After a long period of captivity in Babylon, 70 years to be exact, God encouraged Israel through the prophet
Jeremiah with these words: "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of
evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer. 29:11) Israel had "a hope" because of God.
Modern Israel’s
national anthem is Hatikvah which means "The Hope". Auschwitz survivor, Viktor Frankl, chronicled in his 1946 book Man's Search for Meaning the power of hope and the basis of hope in God. Read

at Faith Bible Church, as well as Christians everywhere, have "a hope" because of God. Christ’s return is
our "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13). While we wait for His return we serve and sing "My hope is built on nothing
less than Jesus blood and righteousness." Our God has promised "to give you a future and a hope."
The
words of Jeremiah 29:11 are seen as you enter my office. I daily encourage myself with this promise from God.
I pray you are encouraged also. If so, "let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do
not lose heart (or hope)" (Gal. 6:9).
